Sunday, May 29, 2005 IDOL TIME CREATES IDOL MINDS. (p.s. BITE ME) Dear Nasty Anonymous poster from Planet Dan:For some reason, you have decided to take a fun and amusing blog site (planetdan) and use it for your own personal attacks on me. I’m going to assume you are someone who must know me. Reason number one, I do not believe I have ever “bragged” about my house on Planetdans site, so that must mean you lurk here. However, I do not believe I “brag” about my house here either. If I brag about anything, it’s the amazing things my husband and children (and occasionally myself) seem to be able to accomplish. It is a shame that you think being proud of my family is bragging. If more people showed an inkling of pride and respect towards other people, it would be a better world. Maybe there wouldn’t be so many people who think, “In order to feel good about myself, I must make others feel bad”. Reason number two, as far as I know, I have never mentioned “not using parts of my house”, on either site. It’s a big house, and I can’t be in 59 places at once. Which means either you've been here, know me, or know someone who knows me. If the latter is the case, you should get your facts straight before casting judgement. However, I could be mistaken and you don’t actually know me. Pity. Maybe, somehow, in some deranged way of thinking, you have misinterpreted my blog, and comments posted on PlanetDan. Or perhaps I’m not the literary scholar you think I am. In either case, this makes you a very sad, pathetic and self-loathing person. To some extent it saddens me. I do not know very many people, so if you are indeed someone who knows me, I really hope my 6th sense has kicked in and you are no longer someone I deal with on any basis. If you are not, then my theory that people are inherently assholes until proven otherwise, stands it’s ground. Either way, it’s another sad day for humanity. My husband, my children and myself work our asses off. For everything. Nothing has EVER been handed to any of us. We’ve pulled ourselves out of many holes that would have left most people wallowing in self pity, and came back fighting and working harder. Everything we have is ours to brag about, as we should. I should be proud of myself, I am proud of my family and nobody has the right to try and tell me otherwise. How’s that for some perspective for you? My advice to you, get your ass off the couch (or from behind the computer as the case may be). Stop blaming others for your misfortune or lack there of. After all only 1 in 120,526,770 people ever win the lottery jackpot. posted by me | 3:45 PM | 6 comments Saturday, May 21, 2005 NO SMACK TALK ABOUT MOTORCYCLES HERE So it's been quite the dreary May... well, spring actually. It's rained 15 out of the last 20 days here. Everyone is a bit blah. When I'm "blah" I like to roam around Michaels craft store. I don't have to buy anything, just being around all the creative stuff makes me feel better. Although it does help to find a project to occupy a rainy afternoon. The kids and I roamed Michaels last weekend. Zoe found a birdfeeder to paint and jewelry to make. Devin found some geometric shapes book to color. Everyone set about their projects in a gray hazy half-ass sort of way. When they were done, they were still blah, gray and hazy. Somehow the topic of sewing came up, so I dug through storage and found my barely used sewing machine and suddenly the haze lifted. For some reason the sewing machine ROCKED! And that's how they spent the rest of the weekend. I found it rather strange although I can't quite figure out why. ![]() They even made Parker a shirt ![]() I don't think he appreciated their efforts. Oh and if you're wondering about the title of this blog: http://www.planetdan.net/blog/2005/05/i-hate-motorcycles.htm See Dan, this is your lesson on how to create an opinion/controversy free, all-be-it bore you out of your mind, blog. No smack talk here, no siree Bob. ***yawn*** posted by me | 7:14 PM | 3 comments Sunday, May 08, 2005 My mother’s day bouquet was bigger than yours…. Happy Mothers Day!Wow! It’s been awhile since I posted last. We’ve been super busy, sorry to everyone who posted a comment or emailed on the last few posts, that I didn’t reply to. So it’s mother’s day already. Who here blinked on January 1st and are now suddenly amazed it’s already May? {{{not surprised as entire readership raises hand}}} My husband has the amazing luck to score loads of free plants only days before mother’s day. Last year a backyard remodel project landed me about 50 “happy mothers day” irises. This year my mother’s day plants arrived in this. It included “happy mothers day” spireah, a cranberry bush; some weird plants that I’m hoping sprout gold and about 100 daylilies. If you’ve been checking in over the course of the last year, I’m working on a courtyard. And of course in the scheme of all that is this house, it’s not a small project. So for mother’s day, in between climbing trees and spraying the dog with the garden hose, the kids helped me gather rocks for a border and dig holes to plant the “happy mothers day” plants. Here are the results of today’s efforts: ![]() ![]() ![]() It’s amazing that every mothers day always ends with me like this. Oh well, I can’t complain {{ouchie my back!}}. Every year my mothers day bouquet get’s bigger and the flowers bloom longer. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY! P.S. Thanks love… for everything. posted by me | 6:02 PM | 5 comments |
