Wednesday, April 13, 2005 SLOW DAY IN THE NEWS ROOM Todays top news headlines:The Pope's tomb opens to public viewing. Labs rush to destroy deadliy flu virus. Video of alleged U.S. hostage shown. Britney Spears expecting first kid! March retail sales weaker than expected. Wait a minute. Back up a sec. Did someone say Britney Spears is PREGNANT?! NO! Get out of here, you're joking right? Because if that were true it should be the HEADLINE news story! I mean, come on Brit Brit is SOOOOOO much more important than any deadly flu virus or hotages. Did you hear she's going to do a reality show about her and Kevy's true romance story?!! Oh I just can't wait to watch them make out on TV. And I bet love scenes will be so hot.... Seriously. Does the adult, news watching world really give a rip if B.S. is pregnant? Does it really warrant a mention in every newspaper, on EVERY news cast in the nation, every talk show and even the occasional "BREAKING NEWS!" interuption of otherwise more important T.V. commercials? I don't think so. The simple fact that every news caster/talk show host is trying unsuccessfully not to snicker as they are forced to utter "good luck to them" or "we wish them well" while the cameraman and crew are laughing their butts off in the background, which you can plainly hear, should tell you what a joke this really is. Britney dear, go away. Go raise your child and leave the rest of the world alone. Come visit us again when your marriage is approaching 20 years and you've successfully raised 3 children. Now that would be newsworthy. posted by me | 9:48 AM | 3 comments Saturday, April 09, 2005 'Tis the season.... IT'S SPRING! GLORIOUS GLORIOUS SPRING!My tulips are coming up and I have already experienced my first sunburn of the year. And it's time for projects to move outside! This is the view of my kitchen window right now: ![]() O.K. It's a little blurry. Wait, I'll try to zoom in for you..... ![]() This is a pic of John working on his next project. What project is that you ask? Well, it's a waterfall in our back yard project. Before you think "What the hell?", let me explain. John's done this before. A number of times. If you recall, we have an indoor waterfall in the pool room. And this is a picture of a finished waterfall from our first house we built: ![]() So you see, he's not crazy.... posted by me | 8:29 PM | 2 comments Saturday, April 02, 2005 Joey stole my "thing"... T.V. Bites lately. I'm not into Gilmore Girls (sorry Dan). Can't stand reality T.V. Sick to death of American Idol. There are too many CSI shows. And how many times to the writers of "House" think we can sit through the same scenario:A mysterious illness leaves a {insert adjective for age, gender and occupation here} fighting for thier lives. "Dr. If we don't come up with a cure by morning, (he/she) will die!" Although I really enjoy Dr. Houses' misanthropic sarcastic character...A LOT! Honestly the only seemingly good show on these days is "LOST". And even that is loosing ground with me because of the constant reruns. So, we tuned into "JOEY" last Thursday and what do I discover? The writers of that show stole my "thing"!!!! I'll explain: I hate to cook. I hate eating. Sure on occasion something really sounds good, then I enjoy eating. But for the most part I hate cooking and eating. I have always said for many years. If I could take a pill instead of eating I'd be in heaven. I have people who can testify to the fact that I have said that for many years. No, SERIOUSLY! They said the exact phrase on Joey. VERBATIM! O.K. Who's watching me? Come on....I know you're watching. I can feel it. Well I don't have anymore good material for you... And you owe me for the pill/food thing. posted by me | 5:46 PM | 2 comments |
