Friday, October 12, 2007 BUNDLES TO BLOG ABOUT - PART I September and October have been crazy busy. Besides school, there’s been girls weekend, Johns latest projects and our big “Pick a Party” party... Because there’s so much to blog about over the last couple weeks this is gonna be a multi-part series.GIRLS WEEKEND This years excursion with mom and sista K was Bayfield Wisconsin. Lovely little town, just lovely. We started our trip with a stop at Tobies in Hinkley, MN, for some yummy caramel rolls. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Our waitress left much to be desired. In fact she was quite cranky. I think she must have just lost her day job at the local women’s penitentiary and was now forced to serve the meandering travelers of Northeastern Minnesota coffee and rolls. I’m very glad the serving station was out in the open, I’m sure if it had not been, she would have spit in our coffee. We learned that Sista K has a weird habit ![]() Of cleaning things with her tongue. Gross. On the road again, we stopped in Duluth to see the blah blah blah house. Sorry, cannot for the life of me remember the name of it. While the architecture was quite amazing, I found it interesting that never once did our tour guide mention the murders that happened there, which is the only reason I wanted to see it… thought maybe I’d see the ghosts. ![]() After the tour and lunch we took off to Wisconsin. Mom wanted a picture of the bridge, however I got out the camera a bit late. S’all o.k. tho, we missed our exit, tried to turn around and ended up back on the bridge heading back into Duluth and had to do it all over again. ![]() So all was right with the world ![]() ![]() There she goes again ![]() Friday night we took in a ghost tour. Still no ghosts. Oh well, got one at home that’s been pissing me off stealing my shoes anyways. After the tour Kris and I set out to find a party. See now, in MN parties don’t even start until around 10 or so, which is really annoying for us older people. But in Bayfield apparently the party ends around 9,. Who knew? Saturday was a day filled with shopping and sites Bayfield Library ![]() Bayfield Prison ![]() Bayfield Troll ![]() Bayfield bridge ![]() Me n Sista K ![]() Eventually we decided that Bayfield needed to wake up a bit ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After whooping it up and belly dancing at bar #1, we head off to bar #2. There we sat with the best couples, drank beer, laughed and danced the night away. Unfortunately we don’t have any pics of that, nor did we remember anyone’s name (except Dewey, sorry), but we had a great time! Hope you guys enjoy your retirement, if you’re ever in the area look us up. Sunday we set off for home. Of course we had to visit the local cemetery. What better way to spend the morning when you feel like death warmed over? ![]() Stopped at the self kicking machine to remind ourselves why it’s a bad idea to try to wake up a town ~ everyone wants to party all night when you do that! ![]() And finally made it home around 7pm – to about 8 hours worth of homework that needed to be completed. Girls weekend was a blast. I love my mommy and sissy. ![]() Stay tuned.
