MY TWEEN

So the other day someone said to me “I read your blog the other day. Your daughter is not a tween, and I can’t believe how you over indulge her, letting her get her hair colored. I won’t let my daughter get her hair done until she’s 16!” I said, “The official age of a ‘tween’ is 8-12, look it up on Wikipedia.” What I wanted to add was “You indulge your daughter in expensive pedicures and manicures, expensive clothes, frou-frou coffees, and she has her own laptop, I don’t see the difference. Except my daughter saved her money and paid for it herself.” Unfortunately she’d already stomped off huffing and mumbling under her breath at me. I’m sure I will feel the ramifications of this one soon enough.

People around here are like that. And yes, I know she reads my blog, I really don’t care anymore.

Here’s Z, with her new do (again a tribute to Nicole). It’s adorable and just so her. She’s been on cloud nine for 2 days. It’s a proven fact if you feel good about yourself you are a happier person. Besides being happy, she also learned how to work for what she wanted and how to save money.

I think it’s been a win-win situation all around.

Shove that in your new cappuccino machine.

Awwww, so cute!

I remember when we were young mom REFUSED to let us get earrings or wear ponytails.

In those cases, mom was right to refuse. And thank god she did. Phew.

Those pictures are adorable...I wish I had a haircut that looked that nice.

Do you remember me Colleen? I dropped out of blogworld for a long time, but I'm back with big good news. Can you guess? :)

My question is, Why the F**K do other people care about what you let YOUR child do? People should mind their own business and get a life! Her hair looks adorable.

Dan: I think you should have defied mom and worn your mullet into a pony tail. I so regret not having been around to take more pics of you in your youth now.

Christine: CONGRATULATIONS! I'm so excited for you and Isaac.

Anonymous: It's just that way out here. You should hear some of the dumb things they say to me. People are weird, oh well. I like her new do too.
