THE UNVEILING

You've all been so patient. And so many creative ideas of what John's latest creation is! So without further hoop-la.....

STARTING WITH A LOT OF CUTTING AND MASKING ...

... MOVE ON TO STAINING ...

... THERE'S A WHOLE 'NOTHER COLOR, BUT I WON'T BORE YOU...

... AND THERE YOU HAVE IT,
A CHESS BOARD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE VERANDA.

Yeah, I said it, "Veranda". I know, I'm getting all snooty on you, but it sounded better than "the 4th porch".

Deal with it.

Cool. Life sized chess!

Seriously though, I wish I had a quarter of John's ambition. and a quarter of his skill.

I'm not smart enough to play life size chess, but I will dress 24 hobos up in black and red and whoop you at checkers.

Geek: Skill takes practice. I'm running a bit low on ambition when it comes to house projects myself. On the other hand, I'm back in Karate and running 5k most days, so I guess I've just transfered it.

Jewels: You're on you hobo hooker you. We can kick back with some margarhittas and make those hobos dance!

He is so talented it looks great!
I have been running again...remind me why???
I must be getting old because My hip and knee hurt whenever I do it...I am only 31 I should not have hip problems at 31! I do like how I feel after a run though.I just started to do it outside. We should go running sometime...well except I run at the same pace most people stroll...

Stacy - We run for the endorphin rush. At least that's what "somebody" told me once. S'posedly to kill all pain.

I think "somebody" was mistaken as my knees and back hurt as well. And I too run at a snails pace and frequently have to stop and walk due to sucking wind. I heard you were actually pretty speedy.

this makes me think of Harry Potter! So do a lot of things I guess!

Looks really neat! I can't wait to see it with the chess pieces.

I love chess. When you get the pieces, we should have a chess-playing get-together. Especially since I ain't to jazzed to ever step in your pool again. :(

We shall indeed have a chess get together. Although it may include the pool. Sorry.

That's if we ever get the chess pieces as we seem to be getting the run around and we ordered them 3 weeks ago.
