WTF?

It’s very common for me to open the door to the garage only to be presented with this scene.

You: “What is it?”

Me: “I don’t know. He was gesturing wildly when he explained it to me and it has something to do with storing sheets of plywood, planing, catching, routers, saws and some other stuff. Oh, and it has moving parts.”

You: “huh?”

Me: “Just smile, nod and say ‘cool’.”

John is beyond talented. He gets an idea of what he needs/wants, then wanders around town trying to find it. Thing is, nothing ever meets his exact specifications. So typically he buys the closest thing and modifies it. If he can’t find something close to modify, he simply builds it himself.

Yes it drives me crazy, but just look at the twinkle in his eyes.

And yes, this is a 3 car garage you cannot park a car in. But the twinkle....

Don't you guys have a workshop that rivals your mansion/house in size? Can't you find a place in there to work on that thingamajig and free up the garage space for your cars?

John is like rainman when it comes to those kinds of projects. It's like it comes to him supernaturally or something. It's totally amazing.

This is for the workshop. Apparantly the workshop cannot be used until the workshop is completed and holds every tool known to man.

You're right! He is like rainman. I never thought of it that way. Ooooh I'm gonna have to tease him.

You guys must be fabulously wealthy because all you do is build and buy, build and buy. It's a little wearisome.

Do you do anything that doesn't benefit just your family?

I, on the other hand, married a man who needs to hire someone to screw in a lightbulb, but only after destroying our entire electrical system first because he thinks he knows what he's doing.

Luckily, he's very sweet.

Anonymous

Actually we are fabulously talented, resourceful and have a work ethic lost to a vast majority of society today.

What is terribly wearisome are people who have nothing to offer society other than criticism, and weaker still, to offer it behind a veil of anonymity.

Popo, I bet your man has many talents. Plus, he's a hottie (can I say that?)

Screw off Anonymous...Just for starters, Colleen's contribution to society are her wonderful children and this hilarious blog. So bugger off.

I love lynne!

How have you been?!

Wow. anonymous is just jealous. Not all of us can build our own homes. Okay now I sound jealous, and we just finished having our house built.

I, like Popo, married a man who thinks he's handy, but he's really not. I hate to tell him this though because he gets depressed for days.

He does look so very happy. Mine is of the helpless but sweet variety also. But at least he admits ignorance most of the time.

Colleen and Lynne have the best comebacks!

Christine, isn't Isaac also incredibly musically inclined? And also a hottie I might add.

It is ashame that his special area of talent is perfection in the art of video gaming...I bet Michael will feel like the luckiest kid in town when he gets old enough to appreciate his dads love for it though...

o.k. I feel bad...You know I am kidding about Greg right? He may not know how to hang a picture or paint a wall but he's a pretty neat guy...
