NO SMACK TALK ABOUT MOTORCYCLES HERE

So it's been quite the dreary May... well, spring actually. It's rained 15 out of the last 20 days here. Everyone is a bit blah.

When I'm "blah" I like to roam around Michaels craft store. I don't have to buy anything, just being around all the creative stuff makes me feel better. Although it does help to find a project to occupy a rainy afternoon. The kids and I roamed Michaels last weekend. Zoe found a birdfeeder to paint and jewelry to make. Devin found some geometric shapes book to color. Everyone set about their projects in a gray hazy half-ass sort of way. When they were done, they were still blah, gray and hazy.

Somehow the topic of sewing came up, so I dug through storage and found my barely used sewing machine and suddenly the haze lifted. For some reason the sewing machine ROCKED! And that's how they spent the rest of the weekend. I found it rather strange although I can't quite figure out why.

They even made Parker a shirt

I don't think he appreciated their efforts.

Oh and if you're wondering about the title of this blog:

A sewing machine? Who knew? Aren't you afraid yer kids are going to poke their fingers through and through? I would be.

Poor Parker. Why did they make him look like a nurse? Make them make him a hawaii shirt or something funky that he would be proud to wear.

That photo of doggie Parker is hilarious. He seems okay with his new uniform.
You know how to build Uberbookcases, Euro-style courtyards AND use a sewing machine?! I've never been able to figure those out.
Obviously you must be a family of talented futuristic cyborgs.

Your kids are so cute.I would have loved to do that stuff as a kid.My Grandma always had me latchooking and even though the things I made are butt ugly (wow, have not used that term in some time)I still love the memory of my yarn nativity scene.
